Work with me.
I design small cloud systems for SMBs — the kind you’ve been reading about on this site. Open to builds, collabs, and design reviews. By Allan Niñal.
What I design
Small, serverless systems on AWS that automate one job end-to-end — the kind that runs for a few dollars a month at SMB volume. Each series on this site walks through one in detail:
- Lead intake bots that read incoming leads, score them, and route the right ones to a human.
- Email assistants that triage an inbox, draft replies from your own knowledge, and escalate the rest.
- Booking assistants that read appointment requests, query a calendar, and confirm a slot.
- Voice agents that answer the phone, hold a real conversation, and hand off cleanly.
- Review responders that read incoming reviews and draft on-brand replies.
- Document pipelines that ingest, extract, and answer questions from your files.
- Daily briefing bots that watch your sources and email you what matters.
- Website chat assistants that answer from your own content without making things up.
- Social autoposting systems that publish on a schedule with topic guardrails.
If your problem looks like one of these — or like a cousin of one — there’s a good chance the same shape of system fits.
What an engagement looks like
Most engagements start with a design: one of these systems, drawn for your business. That means a diagram, a written walkthrough of the moving parts, an AWS reference for the resources, and a realistic cost estimate at your volume. It’s the artifact you’d hand a developer (or me) to actually build it.
From there it’s your call: take the design and have your own team build it, or have me build it with you — usually as a small fixed-scope project, ending with the system running in your AWS account, on your domain, with the keys in your hands.
I also do design reviews: you have an automation already designed (or running), and you want a second pair of eyes on the architecture, the costs, or the failure modes.
Who this is for
- SMB owners and operators who’ve identified a manual job they want automated, and want it done at SMB cost — not enterprise SaaS pricing.
- Founders early enough that one well-shaped automation moves the needle.
- Agencies and consultancies who need a sub-contracted system designer for a client engagement.
- Engineers who want a design partner or reviewer on a system you’re building.
How to start the conversation
Reach me on LinkedIn with a short note covering:
- What you want to automate — one or two sentences. The job, not the tech.
- Where the data lives now — forms, inboxes, sheets, a CRM, phone calls, Drive folders.
- Constraints — timeline, budget range, anything off-limits (e.g. specific cloud, compliance).
I read every message and reply within a few business days. If it’s a fit I’ll suggest a short call; if it isn’t I’ll say so and, where I can, point you somewhere better.
